People ask me all the time where I get my story ideas. I tell them everywhere! My dreams, my imagination, and my environment. I typically write entertaining character-driven stories featuring tall, dark, handsome heroes and strong, confident heroines. I was born in Denver, Colorado, and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, graduating from California State University, East Bay.
I started writing comics in 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Inspired by the first Black Panther movie, I established Kente Comics in March 2022 with the launch of Girl From Xiratha. I wrote that and other superhero titles with Illustrators Alea Landry and Stanley Obende.
Kente Comics counts among its fictional characters Agent Eris, Firebird, Star Angel, Chalawan Uranus, Emperor Norcemo, General Vatet Rho, Brane, Zembaku, and Queen Abena as well as the Ursa Defense League U.D.L. superhero team. Its supervillains include The Dark Chis, the Red Giants, Jabaku, and the Krylon extraterrestrials.
Most of my comic characters operate in a single reality known as the Ursa Universe on planets located near the big and little dipper. Earthly characters are based in the Sierra Foothills and Oakland, California at the U.D.L. Training Academy.
